There have been numerous reports on the web claiming that the Samsung Galaxy S4 heats up a lot and we did a quick video on the same while making a note of the temperature. We played a few resource intensive games and browsed the web for a few minutes continuously to ensure that the device heats up. Following this we checked the results of the battery usage along with the temperature as shown below and found that as the temperature increased, the battery also went down at the same time.

Now during this test we found that the device actually heats up around the Camera area and does not go to the extent we found on the Snapdragon S4 devices earlier. Check out the Video below which can help you in fixing the heating issues on the Galaxy S4.

As shown below there are the Notification Shortcuts which displays few options which can not only heat up your device but also use a lot of your battery which include the ones which need the sensors to be running all the time. In short you should disable the Air Gesture, Sync, Smart Stay, Smart Scroll, Air View etc if you are not using them all the time to ensure that the device stays cool.

Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800 can now be updated with the latest Jellybean version of 4.1.2 which is dubbed as DXMD3. This all new update comes with many new features and also many bug fixes which addresses most of the issues. 

This new update is not only available via OTA (Over the Air) but also is available via KIES. So, for all those who have missed it or still waiting for it can apply this update manually. So after the list of quick pre requisites mentioned below lets check out on how you can apply the same.

Note: Applying this update will in no manner be rooting / voiding the device warranty in any manner as it has been officially released by Samsung.

Procedure to Update Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800 with Jellybean 4.1.2 DXMD3 Firmware:
  • Download Mode in Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800 can be entered by first turning Off the device and then hold Volume Down Rocker Key + Menu Button and then Power ON the device. Once the device is booted and you see the Download Mode Green Robot, you can release the button combos.
  • Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow / Green, indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.
  • Click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you got from the firmware package to click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. Once the firmware update process is completed which will be mentioned in the ODIN, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800 device will be rebooted.
  • Once the device is rebooted, you need to disconnect the device from computer and enjoy the same.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just long press the power button and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
